Irene's is giving back to the community in a big way by doing what they do best, presenting the 9th annual 48-hour non-stop Massage-A-Thon giving complimentary one hour massages, in this extraordinary one of a kind charity fundraiser "People Be Nice To Each Other" Massage-a-thon. The 48-hour event support's 2 charities: Love, Hallie Foundation, "Daytime stars unite for Africa" the children of Agape, South Africa. The Oakland County Lighthouse PATH Shelter for homeless women & children in Pontiac, MI.
Irene Gauthier the school's founder is long past the age of traditional retirement. She remains actively dedicated to helping others and fulfilling her work of 50 years promoting methods of natural healing. At the age of 86, she continues to encourage people to take responsibility for their health.
Executive Director Kathy Gauthier, Irene's daughter is following her mother's path of dedication to promoting good health and wellness. Kathy works hard at keeping the school running efficiently. Her wisdom, insight, and conscious awareness guide her to place an emphasis on promoting holistic & alternative therapies. Dedicated to providing the best bodywork & holistic education available, the mother & daughter team created a State of the Art facility for Irene's Myomassology Institute. In this nurturing, comforting, stress free atmosphere, the institute excels in teaching massage and holistic health. Everyone who enters the doors of Irene's can experience peaceful healing energy.
The expertly trained massage students and instructors at Irene's participate in this exclusive Massage-a-thon once each year. They donate one-hour massage treatments around the clock for this event. All monies raised are given to the charities.

What is the Love, Hallie Foundation? Love, Hallie was founded by Sofia and Ted Geier when their eleven year-old daughter, Hallie, died in 2004 after being accidentally run over by an SUV. Together with Hal's Angels LOVE, HALLIE encourages kindness, respect and positive action among young people. Who are the Children of Agape?
The Children of Agape are a talented group of orphaned, impoverished South African young people who first traveled to the U.S. in 2005. The Children of Agape continue to capture the hearts and spirits of their audiences, singing, dancing and currently supporting the Veto the \'Squito campaign against the #1 killer of African children: malaria.
